I graduated from University of Central Missouri (go Mules) in 2004 with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration. From 2001 to 2005, I worked for a very small public firm in Warrensburg, Missouri preparing tax returns, compiling financial statements and processing payroll. In efforts to expand my experience and knowledge, I explored the corporate arena, ultimately landing a Staff Accountant roll with Danisco (food ingredient manufacturer), located in New Century, Kansas, in 2005. It was in this year that I moved to Gardner, Kansas, a town that feels more like home to me now than my real hometown. I moved through the ranks of Danisco and was a leader of the North American Scanning Solution for Accounts Payable in SAP. In 2009, I went to work with CareFusion (medical devices), located in Leawood, Kansas, in a newly created role that managed the transactional accounting functions. It was here that I worked extensively with internal and external auditors, streamlined procedures and implemented processes to comply with SOX guidelines. In 2013, I was promoted to Financial Analyst with the expectation that I would work in the Chicago area. After much consideration, I decided to stay in the town that I’ve grown to love and pursue a dream that I’ve had since graduation: my own practice. I have been married to Greg since 2010 and we have three children: Peyton, Lexi and Dylan. My personal life revolves around band concerts, choir performances, coaching volleyball and softball, Boy Scout programs, family bike rides and backyard wiffle ball games. Me time is spent reading, playing sand and court volleyball, hitting the gym and shopping.
